Jurisdictions
Licensing and compliance across the jurisdictions that matter to iGaming operators
Every jurisdiction has its own regulator, application process, and pace of change. The pages below cover the jurisdictions we work in most; for others, our approach starts the same way — an honest assessment of what your file needs before you file it.
Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA)
Curaçao
Curaçao replaced its long-standing master licence system with the Landsverordening Openbare Kansspelen (LOK) on 24 December 2024, moving licensing authority to a single regulator and materially raising the documentation bar for new and existing operators alike.
Gibraltar Gambling Division
Gibraltar
Gibraltar has licensed online gambling for more than two decades. It combines a respected licence and a small, experienced regulator with a framework that serves both B2C operators and B2B suppliers under one Act. It suits operators that want recognition and a practical, English-language process, and it asks for genuine presence in Gibraltar.
Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC)
Isle of Man
The Isle of Man licenses online gambling under the Online Gambling Regulation Act 2001 through the Gambling Supervision Commission. It pairs an established, supervised regime with a favourable tax position and a clear licensing path for operators, platform providers and software suppliers that run their operations from the island.
Malta Gaming Authority (MGA)
Malta
Malta remains one of the most established EU-based licensing jurisdictions for iGaming, with a single-licence structure covering both B2C and B2B activity through the Malta Gaming Authority — but its reputation for maturity comes with a correspondingly thorough fit-and-proper and AML review.
Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and iGaming Ontario
Ontario
Ontario opened a regulated online gambling market on 4 April 2022. Operators are registered by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and work under an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, which conducts and manages the market. It is a market licence for operators that want a place in Canada's largest provincial market and can meet its standards.
UK Gambling Commission (UKGC)
United Kingdom
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) operates one of the most demanding licensing regimes in the sector, combining a strict fit-and-proper test with an active enforcement record — a UK licence signals credibility, but it is also the jurisdiction where preparation gaps are least forgiven.
