Our Approach

Why this isn't a licence bundle

Curaçao in particular has a well-known market of trust-office style providers who sell licence application, company formation, and compliance as a single low-cost bundle, run largely by template. That model works for operators who want the cheapest path to a licence and are prepared to accept the risk that comes with it. It isn't what we do.

Operator-side experience, not just advisory experience

Every senior advisor at Cross Border Licensing has held an in-house compliance, licensing, or legal role at a licensed operator before advising one. That means we've been the person accountable for an AML programme in front of a regulator, not only the person who wrote the policy from the outside.

No template process

A licence application or compliance review is scoped to the operator's actual structure and product. We don't run every client through the same fixed checklist regardless of whether they're a three-person startup or a group with an existing licence elsewhere.

Multi-jurisdictional, by design

Because we work across Curaçao, Malta, and the UK rather than specialising in a single regulator, we're positioned to flag conflicts between jurisdictions — a licence condition in one that complicates an application in another — that a single-jurisdiction advisor often can't see.

Honest about what we can't promise

We don't issue licences, and we don't guarantee a regulator's decision. Any advisor who tells you otherwise is either overstating their role or misunderstanding how licensing actually works. What we can commit to is a well-prepared file and a realistic account of your risk.

Confidentiality & data handling

Licence applications and compliance reviews involve sensitive corporate, financial, and personal information — UBO structures, source-of-wealth documentation, internal compliance findings. We treat that information accordingly.

A mutual non-disclosure agreement is put in place before any substantive documentation is exchanged, ahead of a formal engagement. Sensitive documents are exchanged through a secure, access-controlled channel rather than by unencrypted email, and access within our own team is limited to the advisors actively working on your file.
